Romney in the debate
When asked about his plans to fix immigration policies Romney said - and I’m paraphrasing here - there should be ways for the children born in the U.S. of illegal immigrants to become citizens, like perhaps military service.
So… these desperate young adults that have lived here their entire lives need to risk their lives to earn citizenship? Is that Romney’s plan? Is he planning on using them as cannon fodder? This really concerns me. It worries me. It makes me angry. Don’t take advantage of desperate people who are willing to do almost anything to live a better life! Don’t make this a thing. It’s a bad idea! We can’t start telling children born in our country that they can maybe be citizens one day, but only if they’re willing to die for it.
He also referred to people living in our country illegally as “illegals” which is an archaic and offensive term. No one is illegal. A person cannot be illegal.
